The University encourage staff, students and visitors to use public transport whenever possible.

Interest-free Public Transport Loan

You can reach Edinburgh by train from all over Scotland and the rest of the UK.

There are several schemes available to students and staff which give you discounts or free travel on public transport around Scotland and the UK.

We provide a free shuttle service for students and staff who need to travel rapidly between Central Area and King's Buildings to meet their academic timetable.

Park and Ride facilities offer free and easy parking, and have frequent and fast public transport connections to the city centre.

Departments can order pre-paid travel cards. These enable staff to easily use Lothian Buses and Edinburgh Trams for business travel, without the hassle of claiming expenses.
