Students currently taking an undergraduate degree elsewhere are able to spend a year (or semester) of their studies at the University of Edinburgh on a Study Abroad Programme.
A year or semester in Edinburgh may count towards your final degree at your home university.
North American students in their final year of high school are also invited to apply as Freshmen to our Study Abroad programme.
You can study at Edinburgh for the full academic year or either the autumn (fall) or spring semester.

EU students can only apply to the University of Edinburgh if there is an appropriate Erasmus agreement in place.
Edinburgh offers visiting students a range of courses in subject areas from 19 different schools. Applicants should only apply for courses for which they are qualified.

Once you have an offer to study at Edinburgh, you should make your online application for your university accommodation.
University accommodation will be available from the Saturday before Fresher's week for Semester 1 and Full Year students.
The University accommodation contract start date for Semester 2 students is yet to be confirmed.
You may be interested to hear that BUTEX offer an International Scholarship Programme.
The Scholarship is open to all international undergraduate students whose period of study abroad is not funded by an ERASMUS grant. If you have been made an offer to study at the University of Edinburgh and you are studying for a minimum of one semester, then you are eligible to apply for the BUTEX scholarship.
