When can I study in Edinburgh?

You can study at Edinburgh for the full academic year or for the fall semester (semester one).

What are the entrance requirements?

We expect you to have a strong academic record. You need one of the following to apply:

*ACT composite score of 27 can be accepted in lieu of SAT I Reasoning Test

If English is not your first language then you will need to meet the English language requirements for all undergraduate students at the university:

What can I study at Edinburgh?

We offer a huge range of arts, humanities and social science courses, as well as courses in science and engineering. Freshman year abroad students may select from first-year courses only.

Accommodation (housing)

We guarantee university accommodation for all Freshman Year Abroad students. Once you have an offer from the University, you should make your online application for university accommodation. Most freshmen stay in Pollock Halls of Residence, but we have other housing options available as well.

Further studies

Students on the Freshman Year Abroad programme who wish to continue degree studies at the University should discuss this with an admissions officer during their freshman year.

In most cases, progression to full degree studies is a straightforward matter, with the exception of the following degree programmes:
