Careers and higher education conventions

Student Recruitment and Admissions (SRA) staff represent the University of Edinburgh at higher education conventions (HECs) and school careers conventions (SCCs) in the UK.

We are also happy to make visits to schools and colleges to speak to students, parents and of course staff. Please contact us if you would like someone from the team to come and speak in your school or college.

School careers conventions

SRA staff regularly attend careers conventions organised in schools across the country.

In 2011, SRA staff have so far attended over 50 such events. The majority of these are in the evening to allow parents as well as applicants to attend.

If you are considering organising a convention why not contact SRA in advance? We have considerable experience of these events and can make positive suggestions that will help with your planning. We are also very busy at peak times of the year and early notification of events helps us try to allocate staff.

Higher education conventions

HECs are regional events, usually held in large exhibition halls or university campuses. These are mainly organised by UCAS and the Higher Education Liaison Officers' Association (HELOA).
