Culture

With galleries, museums and concert halls, we have a great slice of Edinburgh life on offer.

The talbot Rice Gallery at the University

Talbot Rice Gallery

Our free public gallery hosts around seven contemporary art exhibitions yearly, as well as a programme of experimental projects and smaller exhibitions.

It also holds a permanent display of the University's old master paintings for anyone curious about exploring our past.

Bedlam Theatre

We house the UK's only entirely student-run theatre. The Bedlam, near Bristo Square, offers not only top-quality drama, but hands-on experience as well.

Classical concerts

Our grand Reid, McEwan and St Cecilia Halls provide glorious venues for an extensive series of lunchtime concerts and organ recitals.

These wide-ranging programmes involve visiting and local professional musicians and students.

Museums

The University has many fine collections, and some include artefacts found nowhere else in the world.

Student societies

Students have the opportunity to get involved in the cultural life of Edinburgh through many of the University's student-run societies.

These include the Music Society, Footlights, the Art Society, Chamber Choir, Jazz Orchestra and many more.
