We also conduct internal reviews of our teaching to ensure high standards are maintained and our courses are up to date.
These reviews play an important role in improving teaching methods and enhancing your experience as a student.
The tutors are all artists in their own right but take their teaching seriously. The staff are always on the look out for great opportunities for us and I feel that our success is important to them. The meetings with my tutors can really help me stay focused and inspired and I feel they’re doing a great job.

New ways of learning
We are always keen to develop innovative approaches to teaching in order to discover the methods that work best for students. Examples include:
- a virtual veterinary practice at the Vet School
- e-learning techniques in Divinity
- Peer-Assisted Learning Scheme in Law
- 'clicker' technology - a system that allows anonymous voting on keypads to assess understanding in lectures
We also host an annual innovative learning week, which provides space outwith the curriculum for staff and students to explore new learning activities.
