How to enrol
You can enrol and pay course fees online or in person.
Methods of payment
- Payment of course fees should be made in £s Sterling.
- Cheques are made payable to 'The University of Edinburgh'.
- Payment by credit or debit card may be made online or in person.
Course fees must be paid in full before you attend a course.
Enrol online
You can book and pay for language courses online using our course catalogue and online bookings system.
Enrol in person
You can enrol in person at Reception between 9.15am -4.30pm, Monday to Friday.

Enrol by post
You can enrol for language courses by post at any time. Complete the enrolment form and return it with a cheque made payable to the University of Edinburgh.
The enrolment form is available to download in PDF (requires a PDF viewer such as Adobe Reader).

Late enrolments
It may be possible to enrol on a language course after it has started. Please contact us to to find out whether there are places available.

Cancellations
Please note that courses require a minimum number of enrolments. Normally, all courses which do not reach this will be cancelled no later than the day before they are due to start.
Exceptions
If you fall into any of the categories below you will not be able to book a course online and must therefore use one of the alternative methods of enrolment:
- You/your family's sole income is from Department for Work and Pensions benefits and are claiming the concessionary rate.
- You are in receipt of pension credit and are claiming the concessionary rate.
- You are applying for help with fees from the Martha Hamilton Trust.
Conditions
- Fees are payable in advance and are non-refundable unless a course is cancelled.
- We reserve the right to reschedule or cancel classes subject to student numbers.
- Only one concession may be claimed at a time.
- Classes do not normally contain more than 16 students.
- Late enrolments may be accommodated up until the second week of the course.
- To register after the second week you will need approval from the Programme Co-ordinator and the full course fee will apply.
