What is online learning?
Online learning is a way of studying for an internationally-recognised University of Edinburgh postgraduate qualification without needing to visit the campus.
Online Learning at the University of Edinburgh enables you to obtain a high quality degree, identical to our on-campus qualifications, delivered flexibly and fully online. This means wherever you are in the world, you can achieve a University of Edinburgh degree without ever needing to come on campus.
Online learning is predominately aimed at those who wish to study for a postgraduate qualification alongside ongoing work or other commitments.
How is online learning different?
Our online learning programmes are subject to the same rigorous criteria as all University programmes.
Any programme offered by the University must comply with strict academic criteria before being approved by the University’s governing body, the Senatus.
Online programmes are of equal value to on-campus programmes.
The entry criteria, overall work load of the programme and the worth of qualification are exactly the same to on-campus postgraduate programmes.
The only difference is in the way the course is delivered.
