Public health

Public Health is about preventing disease, prolonging life and promoting health through the efforts of society.

This is the ideal programme if you are a professional or new to the subject and you wish to address today’s problems in public health.

You will gain an understanding of how different scientific disciplines can be used to investigate and then develop the best professional practice in epidemiology, public health and social science, ethics and health.

The Programme Directors' presentation will cover the following:

  • Why study public health?
  • Programme structure and courses, including opportunities for specialisation in the important global health area of Noncommunicable Diseases
  • Programme staff and students

Format: The Programme Director, Dr Pagliari will deliver an online presentation sharing an overview of the Global eHealth programme. A short question and answer session will follow the presentation. There will also be the opportunity to speak with current students.

Telemedicine consultation

This interdisciplinary programme introduces health informatics in the context of international health systems and global health challenges, supported by specialist courses covering areas such as public health informatics, telehealthcare and mHealth.

It is aimed at a wide audience, including health professionals, policymakers, NGOs, researchers, eHealth vendors and ICT practitioners. The programme is unique in addressing the topic from a truly international perspective, including a consideration of low and medium income economies.

The presentation will cover the following:
