Edinburgh's Polish Community
Scotland is a very popular destination for many young Polish people, with an estimated 40,000 Poles now living here.
Edinburgh itself has a large Polish population of around 8,000 and there are many facilities and services in the capital to support this community. For example the Polish Consulate in based in Edinburgh, and there is also a Polish Drop-in Centre (Swietlica) supported by Edinburgh Council. Poles can also take advantage of the growing number of Polish restaurants, supermarkets and delicatessens in the city.
