Australian qualifications
The entrance requirements vary depending on the subjects you wish to study.
Humanities and social science
The following is required (as a minimum), for degrees in humanities and social science subjects:
- ATAR of at least 92
- Overall Position of four or less
- and successful completion of High School Certificate with passes in all required subjects, as stated in our prospectus.
Science and engineering
The following is required (as a minimum), for degrees in science and engineering subjects:
Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, Northern Territory, South Australia, Tasmania, Victoria and Western Australia
ATAR ranking of 95.6 or above, or 97.6 where we require a grade A at SQA Higher/GCE A level, and award of High School Certificate with passes in all required subjects as stated in our prospectus
Queensland
Award of the Senior Certificate, with an Overall Position of 3 or above, or 2 where we require a grade A at SQA Higher/GCE A level
Medicine and veterinary medicine
Applicants to medicine or veterinary medicine should contact the admissions staff in the College for advice on entry requirements. The contacts are given below.

Other qualifications
Applicants with the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma or A-Levels can be considered for admission to Undergraduate degree programmes at the University of Edinburgh.
Each course may have further specific entry requirements. All applicants must meet these requirements.
