Introduction

The University representative for Hong Kong is Esther Sum.

Esther visits Hong Kong several times a year to give presentations and meet with potential students.

Student numbers

There are 179 students from Hong Kong.

The majority are undergraduates spread across a wide range of subjects, but the following are popular: Architectural Design, Biological Sciences, Business, Veterinary Medicine, Medicine, Psychology, and a variety of social science degrees.

Alumni

The first students from Hong Kong came to study Medicine at The University of Edinburgh over 70 years ago and since then many have followed in their footsteps branching out across the institution.

There are now around 490 University of Edinburgh alumni residing in Hong Kong. The job titles are varied but impressive. Many have continued on in academia and are now lecturers at universities in Hong Kong. Others are professionals such as architects, vets and doctors.

The majority are on business, marketing and finance career ladders. The rung that they are currently on is linked to their experience so recent graduates are account executives while some of our more senior alumni are company directors and chairmen.
