Applications for entry in September 2016 can be submitted from 1 September 2015.
If you are applying for full-time study on any of our undergraduate degree programmes you must do so through the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS).
|1 September 2015||Applications open for 2016 entry.|
|15 October 2015||Deadline for all applications to Medicine and Veterinary Medicine.|
|15 January 2016||Deadline for all other UK and EU applicants.|
|30 June 2016||Deadline for all other international applicants. (We advise you to apply by 15 January but applications will be accepted until 30 June.)|
All applications received by the relevant UCAS deadlines will receive full and equal consideration.
We aim to inform you of our decision on your application as quickly as possible. Provided you have applied by the October or January deadline, you can expect to receive our decision by the end of March.
You can follow the progress of your application through UCAS Track.
Applications received after the relevant deadlines will be considered on an individual basis at the discretion of the University. As demand for many of our programmes is high, we cannot guarantee that late applications will be considered.
Following UCAS deadlines, we will close certain programmes to further applications.
If you are considering applying after the relevant deadline, and UCAS Apply indicates that we are still accepting applications, please contact the relevant College admissions team to check the availability of places before submitting your application.
If you are applying for medicine at Edinburgh you must sit the UK Clinical Aptitude Test (UKCAT), or apply for an exemption code from the UKCAT consortium, in the summer before you submit your UCAS application.
Please note that the deadline to register for the UKCAT is before the UCAS application deadline.
We don’t use any other admissions tests in our selection process for any other subject.
Applications for direct entry to second year of programmes in the College of Science and Engineering and Edinburgh College of Art should be made through UCAS in the usual way.
