Editing personal details

Guidance for Postgraduate and Visiting applicants on editing personal details after your application has been submitted. If you are an Undergraduate applicant, then you will need to contact UCAS to make any changes to your personal details.

What personal details can be updated in the Applicant Hub?

You are able to update your date of birth, contact details and passport number via the Applicant Hub at any point before you have accepted an unconditional offer.

Other changes must be processed by the Admissions Office or by the Fees team if the change could impact your fee status.

You can make changes to the following personal details within the Applicant Hub:

  • date of birth
  • home and contact address
  • home and contact phone number
  • home and contact email address
  • passport number

The following details can only be updated by contacting your Admissions Office:

  • name
  • gender

The following details can be updated by contacting the Student Systems Support Team:

  • ethnicity

  • nationality
  • dual nationality
  • country of birth
  • country of domicile 
  • EU/EEA National

How do I update my personal details?

For postgraduate and visiting applicants, personal details can be updated through the 'My Details' section of the Applicant Hub by following the steps below:

  1. Access the 'Applicant Hub'
  2. Scroll down to find the 'My Details' section
  3. Click the 'Edit' button
  4. Update your details as required
  5. Click 'Save' to complete the change

Why can't I update my date of birth?

If you have accepted an unconditional offer, your date of birth can not be updated in the Applicant Hub.

If your date of birth needs to be updated and you are unable to update it, contact your Admissions Office.

When contacting the Admissions Office please provide the following details:

  • UUN (if available)
  • forename(s)
  • surname
  • e-mail Address
  • programme of Study (if applicable)

Why can't I update my passport number?

If you have accepted an unconditional offer, your passport number can not be updated in the Applicant Hub.

If your passport number needs to be updated and you are unable to update it, contact the Immigration Compliance team:

  • UUN (if available)
  • forename(s)
  • surname
  • e-mail Address
  • programme of Study
