Airport welcome team
The Welcome Team will be located at Edinburgh Airport at UK and International Arrivals on Friday 6 until Sunday 8 September 2013, (look out for the students in their red t-shirts!).
This is our opportunity to give you a warm welcome to Edinburgh, as soon as you touch down. You can use this service to collect useful arrival information.
Finding onward travel from Edinburgh Airport to your accommodation is very easy, with taxis and buses offering safe and reliable transfers into the city throughout the day and late into the night.
With such regular transport already available at the airport, we don't offer an airport collection or transfer service.
However, our Welcome Team will be there on Friday 6, Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 September, 08.00 until 22.00, to advise you on onward travel options to your accommodation - be sure to bring a note of your Edinburgh address with you!
Travel from Edinburgh airport to the city
The airport has excellent transport links to the city.
Transfer by taxi takes around 25 minutes, although you should allow extra time in case of traffic. A journey to the city centre by taxi costs around £25.
Edinburgh City Private Hire (ECPH) is a private taxi company which offers preferential rates to University of Edinburgh students (around £20 depending on your destination).
You can book a taxi with ECPH in advance of travel.
