Edex and recreational sport

The EDex (Edinburgh Experience) programme provides students with the opportunity to experience a range of sports, on a commitment free basis.

Recreational Sport is a fun and informal way to be active, try new things and meet friends in a relaxed environment. These sessions are for all students and staff, regardless of your previous relationship to sport. There is no pressure to compete and you can participate as and when suits you. Come along, get involved and fall in love with sport and physical activity, all whilst improving your physical, mental and social wellbeing.

For clubs, who often lead sessions, EDex allows them to target a particular demographic and boost membership numbers whilst gaining valuable leadership and project management experience, at absolutely no cost.

We have several session types to look out for.

Many clubs also offer regular recreational sessions throughout the week that can be attended during a trial period for free before then purchasing a specific membership. These Club Rec sessions are beginner friendly.
