
Karen qualified from Liverpool Veterinary School in 1982. Following two years in large animal practice in Scotland, 1 year in Australia and locum work in England, she started work at the R(D)SVS in 1986.
Karen was awarded a PhD for her thesis ‘Echocardiographic studies of valvular and ventricular function in horses’.
Karen’s research interests include non invasive assessment of ventricular function in anaesthetised horses and sudden cardiac death in horses during exercise.
