Types of parking permits students can apply for to park in the King’s Buildings and at Abden House.
There are three different types of permit available. The application process determines the type of permit you are eligible for. Peripheral Area Permits may also be used in the Easter Bush car parks. They may not be used in the Central Area or at Little France.
C Permits which are valid for use in Peripheral Area car parks may park in C permit car parks in the Central Area.
Please note that car parks within University owned residential accommodation are managed by Accommodation Services.
This is an annual permit for students for whom it is essential to use their vehicle every day.

This is a pay-as-you-go permit for students for whom it is essential to use their vehicle, but not on a daily basis Pay as you go permits are charged for half day or full day usage.
Usage is recorded by University Transport and Parking Assistants who patrol the car parks. Each permit has a unique barcode which is scanned by a handheld computer. The Transport and Parking Office issues permit holders with an invoice via e-mail every three months.

C parking permit holders may park in C car parks only.
There are a very limited number of C car parks within the Central Area. These are located at Holyrood, the Pleasance and ECA.

The permit must be clearly displayed on the windscreen of the parked vehicle in use. Vehicles not displaying a valid permit risk being issued with a Parking Charge Notice.
Refunds can be issued by the Transport and Parking Office on “A” permits and King's Buildings Multi-storey permits that are no longer required.
