Enforcement

How the University's Parking Regulations are enforced.

Transport and Parking Assistants

Transport and Parking Assistants are on constant patrol during normal working hours around all University parking areas and operate hand-held computers. All permits issued by the Parking Office are virtual and validity is confirmed by number plate recognition.

Pay as you go permits

Pay as you go permits are charged for half day or full day usage.

City B parking permit holders may park in all City Area car parks.

B Permit Holders must have a valid half day or full day B permit parking voucher activated for use when parked.

B permits  without a valid voucher will be considered to be parked without authorisation and will be issued with a parking charge notice.

Parking Charge Notice

The Transport and Parking Assistants are authorised to issue Parking Charge Notices. Any vehicle parked without an appropriate parking permit, or prior permission from the Parking Office will be issued with a £60 Parking Charge Notice.

The Transport and Parking Assistants are also authorised to issue a Parking Charge Notice to vehicles parked in non-designated parking areas or in such a way that causes obstruction or inconvenience to other users.

The University will  pursue unpaid Parking Charge Notices for payment, whether they are incurred by staff, students, or members of the public. After three written requests for payment,  unpaid Parking Charge Notices may be referred for recovery by the Small Debts Court.
