Doctor Bike
Doctor Bike is a fully qualified bike mechanic from The Bike Station, who regularly visits the University to help fix minor bike problems and provide maintenance advice.
The Doctor Bike mechanic from The Bike Station will provide:
- a free bike safety inspection.
- fixing of minor problems on the spot (eg punctures, brakes, gear problems).
- a bike ‘MOT’ certificate to take to a bike shop for problems which cannot be fixed on the spot.
Doctor Bike Sessions are completely free to all staff and students (on production of a staff ID or student matriculation card) and are provided throughout the year across all of the main University sites.

- Doctor Bike sessions at the Royal Infirmary, Little France are located to the front of the Chancellor's Building.
- Doctor Bike sessions at the Central Area are located outside the University Visitor Centre, near Potterow.
- Doctor Bike sessions at the King's Buildings are located outside the main entrance of King's Buildings House.
- Doctor Bike sessions at the Western General Hospital are located next to the main bike store, outside the Wellcome Trust Building.
- Doctor Bike sessions at Pollock Halls are located at the entrance to the John McIntyre Centre.
- Doctor Bike sessions at the Easter Bush Campus are either held in the Vet School Cycle Shelter or the Roslin Institute Cycle Shelter.
