Mr Oniscu’s educational qualifications are:
Following a Locum Consultant position Mr Oniscu started his current post as Consultant Surgeon in 2009.
Mr Oniscu’s current clinical practice involves liver, kidney and pancreas transplantation and laparoscopic surgery. He has a strong clinical research interest, focusing on organ allocation and access to transplantation and outcome modelling as well as interactions between genomics and immunosuppression.
Mr Oniscu was an undergraduate of the University of Iasi, Romania. He completed his basic surgical training in Leeds and Edinburgh, after which he spent 2 years in clinical research and obtained an MD from the University of Edinburgh.
He completed his higher surgical training in Edinburgh and trained in liver transplantation and hepatobiliary surgery in Edinburgh, Birmingham and King’s College Hospital, London.
He completed his training in liver transplantation with a living donor fellowship at Asan Medical Centre in Korea.
