Overview
We are one of Western Europe’s largest dedicated specialist centres for colorectal surgery.
Location
The Colorectal Surgical Unit is based in the Alexander Donald Building at the Western General Hospital in Edinburgh.
Team members
We consist of academic chairs, consultant surgeons, senior lecturers and affiliate staff.
Services
We manage both elective and temporary lower gastrointestinal (GI) problems for the Lothian region.
Research
Our extensive research facilities have helped us to achieve world class clinical results.
Teaching and training
We contribute to both undergraduate and postgraduate teaching, and provide opportunities for student research.
