Access Bursaries help new students experiencing financial difficulties take up their place of admission at the University of Edinburgh.
170 bursaries worth £1000 for each year of study are available to students from schools or colleges, who, for social or financial reasons, may otherwise not have attended university.
A fund-raising campaign aims to increase the number of access bursaries available.

The Scotland Accommodation Bursary provides the most generous bursary support of any UK university to Scotland-domiciled students. Bursaries of between £500 and £2,000 are being offered to Scotland domiciled undergraduate students who are living away from home and who are eligible to receive a guaranteed offer of University accommodation.
The Edinburgh RUK Bursary provides the most generous bursary support of any UK university for those with a family income of less than £16,000. Bursaries of between £500 and £7,000 are being offered to England, Wales and Northern Ireland domiciled undergraduate students who begin their degree programme in the 2013-2014 academic session and are liable for the £9,000 tuition fee.
