Kathleen manages Widening Participation (WP) staff and resources and oversees all of the University’s WP activities.

Widening Participation Officer
Al is the project officer for Reach, which supports potential applicants to high demand professional areas in selected schools in the Scottish Borders and Forth Valley.

ACES Project Officer
Rob is the project officer for ACES, which supports potential applicants to art and design courses in selected schools in the Edinburgh, the Lothians and the Scottish Borders.

Melanie Smith
Schools Outreach Officer
Melanie liaises with the University’s academic schools and works on a number of the current Widening Participation projects, including Pathways to the Professions.

Widening Participation Project Officer
Neil works on a number of Widening Participation projects promoting social mobility as a practitioner and researcher.
His particular interests include: peer support, peer assisted learning, retention, returning adult learners, early years engagement and the underachievement of males.
