Master's guidance
University scholarships normally cover the difference between the Master's tuition fee and the government rate paid by the Research Council award.
Tuition fee
University of Edinburgh rates for Master's students are higher than the government rate.
However Research Council awards normally only cover the UK/EU tuition fee at the government rate.
The difference is normally covered by a University scholarship.
Residency
The following students also receive a maintenance allowance which varies between the research councils:
- students who have been ordinarily resident in the UK during the three-year period immediately preceding the programme starting date
- European Union migrant workers
- children of European Union migrant workers
