South of Scotland Youth Awards Trust
The Trust provides assistance to people between the ages of 17 and 25, whose home is in the South of Scotland.
Awards
This year the Trust will award grants of up to £500, with a maximum of 20 awards being made. Awards are given to help allow young Scottish people to participate in projects designed to broaden experience, develop confidence, and further their careers.
Eligibility
Grants are made annually towards a variety of projects. In the past, these have include:
- medical electives overseas
- teaching or assisting in community work in developing countries
- participating in musical festivals overseas and in environmental schemes
- adventure training on recognised expeditions such as those arranged by Raleigh International and the Sail Training Association
Applying
Completed forms must be returned by 31 December.
Applications are available from the Trust.
