There are a number of scholarship schemes available.
School awards
The School offers a number of scholarships which cover tuition fees at the Home/EU rate plus research costs for a maximum of three years.
The McLean Social Work Scholarship
The award covers the UK/EU rate of tuition fees and is offered for research to a registered PHD student in Social Work.
Commomwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme
A joint initiative between the UK Department for International Development (DFID) and UK universities, this scheme supports students from developing Commonwealth countries.
Canadian Studies PhD Studentship
Applications are invited from British citizens and Canadian citizens who are permanent residents in the UK and wish to enter the PhD programme in the Centre of Canadian Studies in September 2013
SCIAF Zambia Scholarship
One fully-funded scholarship available to students from Burundi, Malawi or Zambia for the 2013-2014 academic session. The scholarship is open to students applying to the MSc in African Studies or the MSc in Africa and International Development.
