Each academic year, the Office of Scholarships and Student Funding Services establishes standard student budgets that use cost of attendance (COA) estimates for awarding financial aid funds.
The budgets reflect typical student expenses and consist of two basic components:
While your costs may vary depending on where you stay in Edinburgh we expect your cost of attendance to be roughly in line with our estimates. If you believe that your costs are significantly higher then you will be required to complete and submit the spreadsheet below and to fully explain why you require more funds than indicated in your Cost of Attendance. You may be asked for proof of costs.
Students may request additional educational expenses that are not already included in their Cost of Attendance at any time up to four weeks prior to the end of their loan period.
The most commonly used Postgraduate and Undergraduate Cost of Attendance files are below. Some students will require slightly different Cost of Attendance calculations based on type and length of programme. For further information please contact us.
