Who we support

We support students with a range of impairments as defined under the Equality Act.

This can include but is not limited to:

A Specific Learning Difficulty

If you have a Specific Learning Difficulty such as dyslexia, dyspraxia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, attention deficit (hyperactivity) disorder (AD(H)D).

If you suspect that you might be dyslexic or have related difficulties, please come and speak to one of our advisors who would be happy to discuss your concerns.

Autistic Spectrum Disorder

If you have a social or communication impairment such as Asperger's syndrome.

Visual Impairment

If you are blind or have a serious visual impairment uncorrected by glasses.

Hearing Impairment

If you are deaf or have a serious hearing impairment.

Long-Term Illness

If you have a long standing illness or health condition such as cancer, HIV, diabetes, chronic heart disease or epilepsy.

Mental Health Condition

If you have a mental health condition such as depression, schizophrenia or anxiety disorder.

Physical Impairment

If you have physical impairment or mobility issues such as using a wheelchair or crutches or difficulty using your arms.

Temporary Disability

If you are unable to carry out your course work due to a short-term impairment, the Student Disability Service may be able to offer support e.g. a notetaker or scribe if you are unable to take notes.

Another Impairment

If you have a disability, impairment or medical condition that is not listed above.
