Communications and Marketing (CAM) promotes understanding of, and support for, the University and its work, and facilitates effective communications within the University.
It provides a wide range of services and resources for the media, general public, current and prospective students, partnership organisations, local communities, and University colleagues.
The Communications and Marketing team is led by Dr Ian Conn. Ian was born in Dundee and spent his early life in Canada before returning to Scotland. He has experience of the private and public sectors and professional services.
He began his career in the pharmaceutical industry and held a succession of marketing appointments before joining KPMG as a marketing consultant.
He joined the University in 2002 from Glasgow Caledonian University where he was Director of Marketing and Public Relations and a member of the University Executive.

Ian is the lead professional responsible for the University's reputation, brand, marketing and relationship with its stakeholders and communities.
He directs the University's relations with government, overseas communications, media relations, corporate website and publications, university events and the provision of market research and marketing services to the Academic community.
Ian is a graduate of the University, with a Doctorate in Education, and also has BA and MBA degrees, as well as completing an Advanced Management Programme at Ashridge.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing, a Member of The Marketing Society, a Member of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations, a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators, and a Chartered Secretary.
