The University of Edinburgh’s high performance archers have excelled at the Scottish Archery Association Senior Indoor Championships.
The Edinburgh University Archery Club (EUAC) student and alumni teams dominated the event, winning seven of the nine national titles available - the clubs’ most successful performance to date.
Ladies Recurve winner Naomi Jones, who also qualified for the shoot-off for the World Championships in 2012, was thrilled with the results and paid credit to the CSE and the training facilities it offers the archery team.
“Edinburgh University is the one of the only universities with a dedicated indoor archery range, so that gives us a huge advantage,” she said.
“Then there’s the performance gym and the team bursary, which gives us strength and conditioning and nutrition support, as well as performance coaching. We can also train outdoors at Peffermill.”
“This year is looking like being our most successful in quite a while - to win all four categories we were represented in at the Scottish championships is pretty awesome.”
