The New Zealand All Blacks have heaped praise on the Centre for Sport and Exercise, labelling the facilities the best they’ve ever trained in.
We’re always on the road and this is the best facility we’ve ever had.

The team, widely regarded as the best rugby team in the world, trained at CSE Pleasance, Peffermill playing fields and at St Leonard’s Land in their build up to the test against Scotland at Murrayfield on 13 November 2010.
Team trainers and players had nothing but praise for the facilities, particularly the new Performance Gym, part of the Pleasance facility's recently opened £4.8 million extension.
All Blacks strength and conditioning coach Nick Gill said:
“The biggest advantage is the equipment and the fact that everything we want to do, we can do - we’re not restricted by the equipment and the quality is superb."
The technology they’ve got here is absolutely outstanding … they’re great facilities.

All Black fullback
All Blacks players also raved about the facilities.
Fullback Mils Muliaina, who has 91 test caps for the All Blacks, said the CSE had been a “fantastic” place to train.
He said: “It’s always tough for our trainers to go around and find stuff that’s going to help us to perform at our very best. In order to do that we’ve got to have some heavy weights and really good equipment so to come here and have that provided, you know you’re going to get a good workout.”
The All Blacks are among a number of international sports teams that train at the CSE while in Scotland.
