Alastair is a Consultant in Sport and Exercise Medicine and Medical Director at FASIC. He qualified from Dundee in 1988 and has spent the last 20 years serving in the British Army. His main sport is rugby and he has been the Scotland A Doctor for the past three years but he also has extensive experience of multi-sport games having been the Scotland Doctor at the last two Commonwealth Youth Games, part of the British team at the World University Games in Bangkok in 2007 and is heading out to Delhi in October 2010 with the Scotland team for the main Commonwealth Games. He also spent a year as team doctor with Collingwood in the Australian Football League (Aussie Rules) in 2004 so has plenty of experience of contact sport.
Duncan qualified from Edinburgh in 1987 and after escaping from the West Coast returned to General Practice in Edinburgh in 1991. He has 10 years experience in high level sports especially football. He qualified in Sports Medicine in 2001 and in Orthopaedic medicine in 2002. Duncan is Club Doctor at Hibernian Football Club and is currently serving Council Member with the Society of Orthopaedic Medicine and a member of the Provider group to the Sport Scotland Institute of Sport.
Graham and John are orthopaedic consultants based in Edinburgh and are specialists in sports medicine. Both surgeons offer a vast array of experience in both orthopaedics and surgical procedures and have had extensive dealing with all levels of athletes from recreational to professional including those who have achieved their Olympic dream.
Tom is a Consultant in Paediatric Emergency Medicine at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children, Edinburgh. He has over 30 years experience in looking after children and young people with injuries. He is one of only a few specialists in Scotland with an interest in Children’s Sports and Exercise Medicine. He has also published in several journals.
