FASIC employs an extensive team of highly qualified and experienced chartered physiotherapists, sports medicine doctors, podiatrists and sports masseurs, who are dedicated to supporting anyone who is involved in sport or exercise, from elite through to recreational.
Our recently expanded premises are fully integrated into the University of Edinburgh’s Centre for Sport and Exercise, and we now well established as one of the largest and best in the UK dealing with anyone who is physically active.
We are a recognised provider of the full spectrum of sports medicine support to athletes in the SportScotland Institute of Sport, several of its area institutes and the British Olympic Association.
Our facilities have been used by a number of touring teams in recent years, including the All Blacks and the Golden Oldies, and many of our staff are working in support of our national teams; hockey, rugby, swimming, boxing and judo to name a few. In addition, two of our clinical specialist physiotherapists and our medical director are part of the Scotland Commonwealth Games team heading off to Delhi in October 2010.
All key clinical staff within FASIC are recognised by the major medical insurance companies.
