The College has formal procedures to monitor non-attendance of all students.
Attendance monitoring runs in parallel to procedures to review academic progress throughout the year, such as progress interviews after first semester assessment. This enables the School and the Director to identify problems or patterns of non-attendance early and to offer the necessary support earlier.
This monitoring also ensures that the University meets its statutory obligations for sponsorship of international visa students.
Designated points for monitoring non-attendance include full matriculation, scheduled meetings with Personal Tutor or Programme Director and formal examination.
Each School has additional designated points that reflect the nature of the programme. These could include laboratory classes, tutorials or seminars and hand in of assessments including examinations, project work and coursework. These designated points are outlined in the programme handbook.
