Teaching

The University's fundamental mission is the advancement and dissemination of knowledge.

Teaching - both undergraduate and postgraduate courses - is our core business.

We aim to produce graduates equipped for both personal and professional achievement. Our courses reflect this through up-to-date content that is informed by the latest developments in research and responsive to the needs of employers and industry.

Students have access to modern facilities and equipment, and we use a variety of teaching methods to enable all our students to fulfil their potential.

We also help students to develop personal and professional skills such as presentation skills, computing skills, communication and teamwork.

Flexible undergraduate programmes

The range of subjects covered in the College of Science and Engineering, combined with courses available to our students provided by other parts of the University, allow an almost unparalleled choice of options for study.

Science and Engineering undergraduate students can explore other disciplines within the College's teaching programme, or look further afield, with opportunities to take courses in humanities and social science subjects during their first year of study.

We offer:

Innovative postgraduate research and transferable skills
