The College of Science and Engineering wants to make non-specialists aware of its research and what benefits it could someday bring. We are using short video clips, linked below, of our researchers describing their work in order to reach beyond scientific conferences and journal publications.
The College conducts world class research toward enchancing our understanding of ourselves and our physical world. This same research may bring direct social and economic benefits to Britain and the wider world, often in quite unexpected ways, in areas far removed from the research domains that generated the original knowledge.
The largest single funder of our research is The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC), a UK public body that manages government funding of research and related activities at UK Universities. This series of videos is funded by the EPSRC Pathways to Impact Award to increase the awareness and understanding in the general population of publicly funded research.
