Research centres
The Schools are large academic groupings that offer many opportunities for collaboration between their disciplines.
The College has developed a successful policy of investing in Research Centres to stimulate and enhance this interdisciplinary research.
This collaboration includes the following centres:
- Centre for Science at Extreme Conditions (CSEC)
- Centre for the study of Environmental Change and Sustainability (CECS)
- Centre for Systems Biology at Edinburgh (CSBE)
- Centre for Translational and Chemical Biology (CTCB)
- Scottish Carbon Capture and Storage
- Scottish Microelectronics Centre (SMC)
- Scottish Universities Environmental Research Centre (SUERC), with the University of Glasgow
- Centre for Infectious Diseases (CID)
We also participate in cross-College centres and inter-University collaborations, including:
