Our vision for the new KB Library is to create a striking new building at the heart of the King's Buildings campus - a place for study and learning - a place for meeting and discussion - a new focus for the intellectual and social life of the campus. Work has begun and the library will open in time for the 2012/13 session.
Ongoing development of facilities and services for students and staff at KB is an important strand of College Strategy, supported by Information Services and Estates and Buildings.
The new KB Library, on four floors, adjacent to the KB Centre will be a striking presence at the green heart of the campus. With long opening hours, it incorporates a variety of study environments, the frequently-used book collection and help services.
Library Services and Collections at KB are being reconfigured to provide high quality services, fit for purpose to reflect modern library usage.
Study Space at KB is being planned on a campus wide basis. The new KB Library is part of the 2008-12 phase of Learning and Study Space Developments at KB.
Environmental aspects are a priority. The architect and contractors follow the principles of sustainable construction and we are making the best of the local environment, site mobility and other "public realm" considerations.
