The University website privacy policy has been updated to provide more information about cookies.
The improvements have been made as part of the University's compliance with the Privacy and Electronic Communications (EC Directive) (Amendment) Regulations 2011.
We want to be open in the way we use cookies, and help users make informed choices about the information they provide when visiting our website. Cookies are small text files that allow a website to recognise a user's device. The new privacy policy provides detailed information about the cookies we use and how we use them, and lets site visitors know how to control the setting of cookies on their device.
The update was led by the University Website Programme, with input from the Records Management Section. The website privacy policy sets out how we use and protect the information obtained from those visiting the site. As well as containing more detailed information about cookies, the new policy has been refined to make it easier to understand what we do, what users' rights are and how to exercise them. It is available on the University website:
