We expect a very strong UK-wide field to apply for these posts. Candidates will be appointed in open competition, with success dependent upon evidence of academic distinction and potential.
Typically, fellows will come from CT3/ST4 grade, with the MRCPsych and holding an NTN, and have a strong research background (intercalated BSc and a proven track record of clinical academic activity during core training in psychiatry).
As this may be our last round of interviews, we are also accepting applications this year from CT1 and CT2 trainees for deferred entry in August 2015.
We realise that some promising candidates will not necessarily have the exam, an NTN and research experience, particularly as we advertise and recruit early in the academic year. We would therefore encourage candidates who expect to gain these in 2014-2015 to apply.
Candidates who still need to gain research experience may be eligible for our four year MRF/MRC Fellowships.
Applications for an intake in 2014 and 2015 are now being accepted.
For more information or to apply now, contact PsySTAR director Stephen Lawrie. Interviews will be held on 10 December 2013.
We welcome applicants from across the UK. Our central goal depends on simply selecting the most promising candidates, and matching them with the project and supervisors most suitable for their aptitudes and interests.
We foresee no difficulties with Inter-Deanery Transfers.
