The Queen's Medical Research Institute
The opening of the Queen’s Medical Research Institute in 2005 represented a major milestone in the history of biomedical research in Edinburgh.
The Institute brings together enormous critical mass and four world class research centres:
- University/BHF Centre for Cardiovascular Science
- MRC Centre for Inflammation Research
- MRC Centre for Reproductive Health
- MRC Centre for Regenerative Medicine
The Institute houses over 600 researchers and aims to tackle a wide range of diseases at the most fundamental cellular level.
Facilities include MRI and various other modern imaging technologies and supporting infrastructure.
