This year, the school will have awards for PhD study in the following subjects: English Literature, Film Studies, German, and Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies. Awards are normally for three years, but students who have already started their PhD may apply for awards for the remaining one or two years of their study.
There are awards for Masters level study in the following areas: Celtic; European Languages: two awards, (one of which will be German), and Translation Studies. Awards for European Languages may encompass Comparative and General Literature or European Theatre. The closing date for applications will be 16th of April. Applicants must have applied and been accepted for study and must complete a separate application form. AHRC awards are for home/UK students. European Union students may apply to this funding body for fees only. Overseas students are not eligible to apply for these awards. Further information: student eligibility.
