The PhD in Film Studies is a 3-year full-time or 6-year part-time degree programme which allows you to pursue a research topic in depth.
Join a dynamic and friendly community of young, up-and coming researchers and take part in our programme of workshops, CiNet and PhD work-in-progress seminars. We can offer supervision on a broad range of Film, moving image and intermedial fields. Our staff pages will give you an idea of the kind of expertise that is at hand, from film aesthetics and film philosophy to sound, music, anthropology and a broad range of national cinemas. AHRC and other grants are available.
You will be assigned a principal and assistant supervisor who most closely match your area of research interest.
