The School of Literatures, Languages and Cultures is pleased to announce that the 13th European Cinema Research Forum will be hosted by Film Studies and the Division of European Languages and Cultures (DELC).
This two day event will explore the notion of otherness in relation to European cinema, and will feature keynote speeches by Prof. Richard Dyer and filmmaker Monika Treut.

The Department of European Languages and Cultures and Film Studies will host a screening of the film Ghosted by Monika Treut as part of The European Cinema Research Forum 2013.
The screening will take place at the Edinburgh Filmhouse on the 2nd of July 2013.

Across the film programmes we host a range of seminars, talks and workshops with visiting scholars and film professionals. Some of this activity falls under the banner of CiNet (University of Edinburgh Cinema Interdisciplinary Network).

We collaborate on a number of one-off projects with cinemas and film events in Edinburgh and Glasgow, including the Glasgow Film Festival, Edinburgh International Film Festival, and the renowned Filmhouse cinema.
Events are also held in conjunction with Centre de recherches francophones belges.
On Friday 27 April 2012 there was a Bergman and Antonioni one-day event, held in collaboration with Filmhouse. The programme included screenings and talks by Bergman and Antonioni scholars, and was an opportunity to celebrate the memory of Professor John Orr, long-time contributor to Film Studies at Edinburgh, whose book on Bergman and European Cinema will be published by Berghahn books.
