Students on combined honours programmes with a modern language are required to spend some or all of their third year abroad.
Students on other programmes are free to apply to go abroad for their third year either under the Erasmus scheme or on an approved international exchange.
For details of available exchanges and how to apply please consult the International Office website:
For details of what you’ll need to do in English Literature during your year abroad, please consult the Third Year Abroad Handbook:
For any queries about the third year abroad please contact the Department's coordinator for year-abroad students, Dermot Cavanagh:
We also have a centralised Erasmus email address to which enquiries may be directed. Mrs Mason checks this regularly for any messages.
