Aims and outcomes

The programme seeks to establish a responsive forum of students and tutors, of intelligent readers and acute listeners within a supportive yet challenging environment.

On beginning the programme, students contract to produce and develop new work, to attend seminars, presentations and weekly workshops as well as the programme of visiting speakers, to respond critically and supportively to the work of their peers, and to consult regularly with tutors.

The programme, which is team taught so students have the benefit of input and response from a range of tutors, aims to encourage students to develop and refine existing skills and to expand expertise to the highest level possible.

Ideally, by hand-in of final portfolio students will have completed a substantial body of quality work.
