A student working towards the degree of MPhil pursues a research project for a period of 24 months if studying full-time, or four years part-time.
You will work closely with an expert supervisor, who will offer guidance and advice throughout the period of study; you will also receive training in relevant research skills and methods.
The aim is to write a thesis of up to 60,000 words, which will be a significant work comprising a satisfactory record of research, or a critical survey of knowledge in the field of study.
The department is able to support students wishing to develop suitable research projects in each of the main periods of English and Scottish Literature.
You can apply online for this programme.
