My main area of research is medieval Spanish literature, especially the ballad and popular lore. I also have research interests in modern Spanish theatre and its performance.
At undergraduate level, I have taught courses on the Spanish ballad from the Middle Ages to the present day, on Spanish folklore, and on medieval texts ranging from the Poema de Mio Cid to La Celestina. I also currently teach a course on Twentieth-Century Spanish Theatre, and have lectured on modern Peninsular and Latin American authors.
At postgraduate level, I have taught courses in translation and in medieval literature, and have supervised dissertations on the kharjas, medieval ballad, epic and romance, as well as on modern Peninsular and Latin American authors.
