Director of Studies
As a student at Edinburgh, you will have a Director of Studies (DoS) who will be able to assist you throughout the course of your undergraduate degree.
Your DoS should be your first port of call for:
- academic advice and guidance
- academic references
It is advisable to contact your DoS by email to arrange an appointment unless you know his or her office hours.
You should arrange to meet your DoS during the first couple of weeks of each academic year in order to discuss your course choices and your performance.
If your DoS is not available for any reason, you should visit the Student Support Office who can put you in touch with the School’s Senior DoS or another relevant academic member of staff.
